The SLIME CITY Soundtrack CD
Composed by Robert Tomaro
For the Film created by Greg Lamberson
SLIME CITY has enjoyed a renaissance since it was released on DVD by Shock-O-Rama Cinema in 2005. The cult film written and directed by Greg Lamberson in 1986, has enjoyed a renaissance since Shock-O-Rama Cinema released it on DVD in 2005. For the first time ever, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the creature feature’s debut as a midnight movie at New York City’s Bleecker Street Cinemas, Lamberson and composer Robert Tomaro present the film’s soundtrack on CD!
Tomaro has re-Mastered all 25 of the film’s tracks, totaling over 35 minutes of electrifying music! Included as a bonus track is the SLIME CITY tribute song by Wisconsin’s Holy Mary Motor Club. www.holymarymotorclubband.com
The SLIME CITY Soundtrack will celebrate its launch at the Beloit International Film Festival in January, 2008; and then it will be available only through Slimeguy.com and at select horror conventions and film festivals.
From the Composer:
I remember sensing, at my first meeting with Greg Lamberson, that our collaboration was going to be fun and easy. He just seemed to intuitively trust that I would be able to come up with the right music for Slime City.
After studying a rough cut of the film, I was impressed with the great, raw energy that flows throughout the movie and I began to develop a sound that would support the images on the screen; edgy, punky, and a little classically avant garde, perhaps what you might get if you locked Igor Stravinsky, Johnny Rotten and Bernard Hermann in a hotel room and didn't let them out until they wrote something together.
I had a great time doing this score and it was fast. It was done and recorded in two weeks. Now, here we are twenty years later and it's gratifying to think that people all over are enjoying our funky little horror film so much.
I hope you enjoy the re-mix of the soundtrack and thanks, Greg, for giving me the opportunity to create the sound of Slime City!
Best regards,
Rob Tomaro
