| Hello, Aunt
Alicia
I can’t tell you enough
How I’ve missed you all these years
Always there to guide me
And you hugged right through the tears
Such a beautiful woman
They all say I have your face
As for sharing your warm heart
I’m afraid that’s not the case
Chorus:
Hello Aunt Alicia
I wish that you were here
Not that I could give you wine
Or offer you a beer
Excuse me Aunt Alicia
But I just can’t form a smile
I hope you can understand
I’ve been dead for quite a while
I can’t tell you enough
How much I want you here with me
I could use a warm embrace
Maybe then we can share eternity
Bridge:
Oh, Aunt Alicia
Can you hear me calling you?
Come on Aunt Alicia
I don’t know what else to do!
Chorus:
Hello Aunt Alicia
I wish that you were here
Not that I could give you wine
Or offer you a beer
Excuse me Aunt Alicia
But I just can’t form a smile
I hope you can understand
I’ve been dead for quite a while

The Story...
We're tipping out hat to George Romero. If you're a fan, you
already know where this song was born. If you're not already familiar
with Day
of the Dead, allow me to enlighten you. This is the
last film of the Living Dead trilogy. Humans have learned how
to capture and study these zombies, hoping to learn some secrets
to their existence. The military personnel want to shoot them
all, and Dr. Logan wants to study them, especially Bub. Bub was
(supposedly) a former military man himself who knew how to salute,
and how to load a weapon. While discovering the use of a razor
and books, the doctor watches his progress to see what he remembers.
Dr. Logan hands him a phone, and he holds it up to his ear, able
to remember how to do that much. He's told to say "Hello,
Aunt Alicia." The onlooking Capt. Rhodes thinks it's all
ridiculous, but he becomes quite uncomfortable and angry when
he hears a moaning version of the words from Bub, "Hello
Aunt Alicia."
We're not copying this moment from the film, but using it as
an inspiration. What if Bub really had an Aunt Alicia? What would
he say to her over the phone? Would he try to lure her to take
a bite out of her? How long would he stay cool before losing control?
What should a song like this sound like? Perhaps some zombies
would play along with the Jazz singer? We had a lot of fun putting
this one together.
